Augmented Reality (AR) is an exciting technology where digital content such as video and 3D can be overlayed onto the physical world in 3D space, or on printed items. Come and see an AR demo, find out more about AR, and how Debra's Dimension Design's Augmented Reality services can benefit your business and marketing. Debra and Ian will then have a discussion about the technology, and Ian will share a bit of the history and of how the technology has been around for years in niche markets, but only starting to become more popular now. Before or after the talk, please view our Augmented Reality Digital Art Exhibition at the same venue.
There is no booking required.
ABOUT DEBRA DE VILLIERS
Debra de Villiers, of Dimension Design, (and also of Firehart Digital Art), has been a self-employed creative graphic and web designer for many years. Debra has worked and played with many formats of digital design over the years, such as print, web and 2D and 3D animation, but specialising in branding and website services for clients. Her current focus on Augmented Reality, Motion Graphics and 3D, is a modern merging of these mediums powered by modern AI tools.
Debra is passionate about the intersection of art, design and technology. She has worked as a graphic designer for various design studios in SA and London. In her last few years in London, she worked in the music industry, for Sanctuary Records, designing printed CD and DVD covers for famous musicians. She then traveled the world as a freelance graphic designer, drawing inspiration from nature and various cultures worldwide.
Aside from digital client work, Debra has always pursued some form of art, starting with traditional art mediums, and then settling on digital art as her preferred medium for her own artistic expression. It was only when she moved to Plett in 2016, that she carved out more time in between client work for her own artistic expression using the digital medium. Debra has participated in the annual Plett Art festival since 2017, and loves the inspiration and incentive this festival provides to create her own digital art each year.
