THE WHITE HOUSE COLLECTION

The White House Collection is a curated exhibition presented by the Plettenberg Bay Arts Association as part of the Plett Arts Festival 2026. Hosted at The White House Theatre from 25 September to 4 October, the exhibition brings together a carefully selected collection of original artworks by artists from across South Africa within a refined gallery setting. Every participating artist has been selected through a curatorial process led by an experienced panel comprising art advisor and curator Barbara Lenhard, South African fine artist and art teacher Elize Bezuidenhout, and acclaimed Garden Route artist Dallas Smith. Visitors can expect a diverse collection of contemporary visual art, with the selection focused on originality, technical execution, impact and the contribution each work makes to the exhibition as a whole. The White House Collection has been created for those who love discovering original art from experienced collectors and buyers to festival visitors simply wanting to spend time surrounded by exceptional South African creativity. The Plettenberg Bay Arts Association is a community-focused arts organisation dedicated to supporting, promoting and creating opportunities for artists in Plettenberg Bay and the wider Bitou region. Through exhibitions, workshops, creative events and community initiatives, the Association provides opportunities for artists to exhibit their work, develop their skills, connect with fellow creatives and engage with new audiences. For the Plett Arts Festival 2026, the Plettenberg Bay Arts Association presents two distinct exhibition experiences: The White House Collection and Community Canvas. The White House Collection is the Association's curated exhibition, bringing together a considered selection of work by artists from across South Africa. Submissions are reviewed by a curatorial panel comprising Barbara Lenhard, Elize Bezuidenhout and Dallas Smith, bringing together curatorial expertise, artistic experience and strong regional knowledge. Through its participation in the festival, the Plettenberg Bay Arts Association aims to create meaningful platforms for artists while contributing to Plettenberg Bay's growing creative and cultural landscape.
