Where Creativity Meets Community
Community Canvas

Community Canvas

Community Canvas is an open, vibrant and inclusive exhibition presented by the Plettenberg Bay Arts Association as part of the Plett Arts Festival 2026. Taking place at the Plett Community Hall from 25 September to 4 October, Community Canvas brings together artists, makers, art suppliers, creative businesses, workshops and demonstrations in a welcoming and interactive creative space. Unlike a traditional gallery exhibition, Community Canvas is designed to encourage visitors to explore, participate and connect. Browse original artworks and creative products, meet the people behind them, watch artists at work and take part in workshops offered throughout the festival. Visitors can expect an eclectic mix of painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, mixed media and other creative disciplines, with work available across a range of styles and price points. Community Canvas also has a strong community purpose. Ten per cent of sales will support the Plettenberg Bay Arts Association's community initiative, which helps create opportunities for young and emerging artists throughout the Bitou region through workshops, art materials, transport, skills development and exposure. Visitors can also look out for the R100 Charity Wall, featuring small artworks contributed by participating artists and available to purchase for R100 in support of the initiative. Whether you want to discover a new artist, buy an original artwork, join a workshop, watch creativity in action or simply soak up the atmosphere, Community Canvas invites everyone to come in, explore and be part of Plett's creative community. 25 September - 4 October 2026 Plett Community Hall, Plettenberg Bay
The Association works to make art more visible, accessible and connected to the community through exhibitions, workshops, creative events, skills-sharing opportunities and community initiatives. It provides platforms for established and emerging artists to exhibit their work, connect with one another and engage with new audiences. Community Canvas reflects this inclusive approach. Presented by the Plettenberg Bay Arts Association as part of the Plett Arts Festival 2026, it creates a welcoming space for artists, makers, art suppliers, creative businesses, workshop facilitators and the public to come together around art and creativity. The Association also supports the development of young and emerging artists throughout the Bitou region. Its community initiative helps create access to opportunities through workshops, art materials, transport, skills development and practical exposure to the arts. Through Community Canvas, the Plettenberg Bay Arts Association aims to celebrate the diversity of local creativity while encouraging participation, connection and greater access to the arts.
